Erik Koch vs. Ricardo Lamas at the UFC on FOX 6. Big time featherweight encounter. Here's how it went down.
Early on, Lamas hit home with a low kick. Koch returned the favor after several moments. Koch threw a couple of high round kicks that were blocked, but seemed to make a statement with them. Then he landed a couple of left hands. The two traded low kicks. Lamas shot in looking for the takedown; Koch was eventually taken down, but got right back up. Lamas still held onto his leg for a bit, but for a period his adversary managed to stay on his feet, albeit while pressed up against the fence. After a decent amount of clinch work by Lamas, he attempted a spinning elbow which grazed before a separation occurred. Koch got off a few strikes before Lamas shot in and pressed him up against the wall again. Moments later, Lamas took his opponent down only to watch Koch get right back up. Then came the bell.
Lamas wins round one due to his Octagon control.
Lamas landed some low kicks to start round two; Koch connected with multiple punches over the course of a minute and a half before making a mistake via a slip and ending up on his back. Lamas stood up over his opponent and started raining down huge elbows and punches until he opened up a serious cut on his adversary and forced a stoppage.
