Chael Sonnen vs. Michael Bisping Results
Chael Sonnen vs. Michael Bisping Results - As is the case all too much lately, a UFC fighter became injured just before an important fight. But it's hard to get upset, as Mark Munoz's injury- here's hoping he comes back soon- led to a pretty interesting match up between two of the UFC's more outspoken fighters in Chael Sonnen and Michael Bisping. So without further ado, here's how their UFC on FOX 2 fight went down.

Sonnen came out aggressively early on, shot in quickly, and took Bisping down. There he landed a few hard shots before Bisping got right back up. Sonnen was on him, though, even after Bisping landed a couple of punches. While pressed into the cage, Bisping defended well, eventually turning his opponent around. Sonnen shot in again after a separation, landed a knee to the body, and then threw his British adversary to the canvas. Sonnen connected with some solid shots, but Bisping got back up.

Bisping is doing a good job considering Sonnen’s high level grappling skills.

After a separation, Sonnen moved forward aggressively again, forcing the clinch after a few punches. Bisping turned him around into the cage wall. There he landed some mild shots to the body. Upon a separation, Bisping connected with a decent left hand. Sonnen shot in hard looking for the takedown once again, but Bisping defended. The the Brit turned his adversary into the cage wall once more. There both fighters landed knees, with Bisping getting the better of things. Sonnen connected with a hard left-right combination. Then Bisping hit home with a very solid combination of his own. The two clinched with Bisping pressing Sonnen into the cage wall. Then came the bell.

That was a close stanza. Bisping did more at the end; Sonnen did more in the beginning. Sonnen may have taken it.

Early in round two, Bisping landed a couple of nice punches. After trading some strikes that mostly grazed, Sonnen pressed Bisping into the cage wall, only to be turned over into the wall once more. Dirty boxing went the way of Bisping before a referee separation. Sonnen landed a hard left hand to the body. Nice left from Bisping. The two are trading some decent shots. Sonnen shot in and nabbed the double leg takedown. He landed a couple of hard shots both on the ground and on the Brit’s way up. Then Bisping connected with a couple of nice punches. Nice left from Bisping. Sonnen hit home with two hard punches. Bisping pressed his adversary into the cage wall. There Bisping really did a nice job of dirty boxing for a period of time. Sonnen is definitely fatigued. The two separated, with Sonnen landing more punches, by a little, up to the bell.

Bisping won a close round two. The first round could’ve gone either way. The third round could very well decide things.

Nice left hand from Sonnen early in round three. And seconds later, he achieved a hard double leg takedown. From there, Sonnen landed only a mild amount of ground and pound while he controlled things. Then Bisping got to his feet, but along the way, Sonnen took his back and sunk his hooks in. There he began looking for a choke, but when that didn’t work, Sonnen took the mount position. Ground and pound, including shoulder strikes to the face, followed, though nothing too serious. Then Bisping gained the half guard position. With a little over 20 seconds left in the fight, the British fighter got to his feet and actually took Sonnen down just before the bell.

No doubt that Sonnen won that round. Bisping won round two. The first round was close. Who wins?

Chael Sonnen defeats Michael Bisping by unanimous decision.
