Gray Maynard vs. Nate Diaz Results - The first time these two fought was on TUF 5, with Nate Diaz winning by way of submission. The next time they battled it out, Gray Maynard won a decision over his rival at UFC Fight Night 20. So when the UFC decided on a trilogy, some fans were stoked. That said, it appears that Diaz wasn’t, as he tweeted the following:
@ufc Cant make it november 30th ive gotta high school reuinion i have to tend too...
UFC President Dana White didn’t initially take the tweet seriously, indicating that he didn’t consider such things official statements. So if you’re reading the results here, that means the fight actually went down. If you’re not, well, then you’re not (yep, this article was started before the actual fight went down).

Early on, Diaz connected with a left hand. Maynard moved forward aggressively. He shot in, grabbed a single leg, and took his adversary down easily. Diaz got up and threw Maynard to the canvas. The two got back up again and traded punches, with Maynard getting the better of the exchange. Nice low kick by Maynard. Diaz landed a solid front kick. Maynard hit home with a punch. A hard left by Diaz then sent Maynard to the canvas momentarily. He got back up, but was nailed by punches in bunches for his efforts. The punches kept coming with no answer until such time as the referee appropriately stepped in (Maynard looked like he didn’t know where he was despite staying on his feet).
Nate Diaz defeats Gray Maynard by TKO at 2:38 of round one.
