Cain Velasquez vs. Junior dos Santos: Velasquez is undefeated in MMA at 9-0. He is a former high school state wrestling champion, NJCAA Junior Collegiate Championship (2002), and Division 1 All American. In other words, the guy can flat out wrestle. But what sets him apart even more from other fighters in the heavyweight division is his cardio. Velasquez has a motor like no other man his size. He's an amazingly hard worker. And to boot, his striking is high level as well.
Dos Santos is one of the best heavyweight strikers in the game today. He hits hard, fast, and uses his hands like no one else. Further, in his last fight against Shane Carwin, he proved to have highly capable takedown defense.
In other words, if dos Santos can somehow stay on his feet, he'll probably win. But doing that against Velasquez is much easier said than done.
Ben Henderson vs. Clay Guida: Henderson looked damn near invincible during his tangle with Jim Miller at UFC on Versus 5. He showed excellent striking, athleticism, and especially cardio. Speaking of cardio, Guida is known for just that. Plus, he's an outstanding wrestler who has improved his game since he started training at Jackson's MMA. What a match up!
Norifumi ‘KID’ Yamamoto vs. Darren Uyenoyama: Yamamoto was once considered one of the top fighters in the world. However, he's lost three of his last four bouts. From a distance, Uyenoyama may look like he's taking on the world here. But the reality is that the guy is a very well-rounded fighter with a lot of upside.
Cub Swanson vs. Ricardo Lamas: When Swanson steps into the cage, it will have been over a year since he last did so. Since defeating Mackens Semerzier at WEC 52, injuries have put his fighting career on hold. Swanson was pretty inconsistent before the injuries, so it's hard to know how the layoff will affect him.
Lamas recently won his UFC debut over Matt Grice. He boasts an outstanding wrestling background.
Pablo Garza vs. Dustin Poirier: Two fighters with one loss a piece and well-rounded skills. Could be a good one.
