Gabriel Gonzaga, the world champion grappler from Brazil, shocked the world by knocking out one of the best strikers in mixed martial arts, Mirko CroCop. Not only did Gonzaga win by knock out, he won in the first round with a technique that CroCop is known for using successfully, a head kick. [p] Gonzaga started off by taking CroCop down to the ground early in the first. While CroCop was able to defend against most of Gonzaga's strikes, CroCop could not create an effective offense, and ended up with a cut and nowhere to go. [p]
