Guide Review - ZPPS Hardwear Traditional Karate Gi

I received this gi for review on a day that I was going to attend a tae kwon do workout. I knew that this was not the type of workout that this uniform was intended for, but I decided to put it through the test. This uniform was great. It was thick and heavy just like it should be, weighing in at 14 ounces. It was cut well and allowed for plenty of high kicks and combinations. After running, jumping, stretching and kicking in this uniform, I inspected it for signs of stress or wear. The double stitching in the seams certainly paid off. The pants didn't show the slightest sign of stress. What I liked most about this gi was the fact that it was heavy, but not too stiff to move as is common with many traditional gis.

My only issue with it is one of sizing, as is also common. The pants were very low waisted, seemingly cut for someone who was about 5'8" or so. As anyone who has ever worn a martial arts uniform knows though, you have to settle on "good enough" when picking a size. If you are tall, you have to pick a gi that is too big. If you pick a gi that fits properly, it is too short, or vice versa. My advice for anyone who is 5'10" or above would be to buy the next size up from what you would normally buy.

The guarantee on this uniform is one of the best I've seen. ZPPS offers a 30 day money back guarantee and will pay for your return shipping if you are unhappy with the gi. It is nice to see a company stand so firmly behind their products.

The price of these uniforms is definitely affordable and suprising considering the quality. With a retail price of $60.99, it is within almost anyone's reach. The wholesale price is equally low, making it possible for school owners to easily outfit their students in traditional gis while not losing their shirt in the process.
