What happens when a former TUF contestant takes on a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu champion? That's exactly what Strikeforce was aiming to find out when Ed Herman fought Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza. Here's how it all went down.
Early on, Herman landed low kicks and jabs on his adversary. Upon a clinch, the two did some dirty boxing until a separation. But then Jacare shot in and nabbed a double leg takedown. However, Herman immediately went for a solid heel hook attempt. After an illegal upkick by Herman nabbed a warning and a stand up (yep, Souza got the shaft) Souza started landing jabs and a really hard right hand. A clinch saw Souza do some good work before shooting in and taking Herman down directly into side control. Then came a serious keylock attempt that Herman had no choice but to tap out from.
