Fresh off of his huge victory over Junior dos Santos at UFC 155, Cain Velasquez told FOX Sports "I wouldn't [fight Daniel Cormier]. This is my friend, my teammate and my coach. If you want to see us fight, go to AKA three days a week."
Of course, Velasquez was referring to their training sessions. Which leaves Cormier, a great wrestler coming over from Strikeforce, with few options. But one that he himself has discussed is moving to light heavyweight to take on current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones. Apparently Dana White likes the idea.
"[Daniel Cormier] is going to bring a lot of excitement to the heavyweight or light heavyweight division," White said following Saturday night's UFC 155 event in Las Vegas. "And he could be next in line to fight Jones."
Next in line of course means after Chael Sonnen takes Jones on. But assuming that fight goes the way many believe it will- decidedly to Jones- the possibility of Cormier vs. Jones brings some intrigue. After all, Cormier's wrestling and size make him a difficult opponent for anyone, the champ included. So we wait and see.
