Jim Miller vs. Ben Henderson Results - Henderson Dominates Miller, Wins By Decision

Coming into UFC on Versus 5, Jim Miller had won seven straight fights for the UFC. That put the lightweight contender in some pretty elite company. Ben Henderson is a former WEC Lightweight Champion who won his first UFC fight. So fans had reason to believe their Versus 5 bout could be a very good one.

Here's what happened.

Early on, Henderson missed with several fast jabs and then grazed with a left.  In fact, early on Henderson connected and threw more than his adversary.  Moments later, the two clinched following a Miller knee.  After the two traded knees, Miller nabbed a standing arm-triangle.  Henderson supported his weight when Miller sunk in his hooks, but eventually escaped and found himself on top on the ground.  Miller began looking for a kimura, but Henderson escaped to throw some bombs.  Henderson began looking for a guillotine that didn't work, so then he put Miller back down on his back.  The man with seven straight UFC victories then made a valid guillotine attempt that failed.  And for the rest of the round, Henderson rained down some significant ground and pound.

Henderson takes round one.

The second round saw Henderson go after things early on, connecting with some serious elbows on his feet that left Miller a little bloody, before clinching and taking the New Jersey fighter down.  From there, Miller began looking for a kneebar to no avail.  Henderson is just faster and more athletic, and the ground and pound Henderson threw at him right after that move proved it.  Still, Miller nearly sunk in a kneebar soon after, but Henderson escaped.  Next came a strong heel hook attempt, but Henderson just pounded away at his bloodied opponent.  Miller got to his feet, ate some big punches, and then was put right back down on the canvas.

Henderson is just doing a great job here.

The round ended with Miller eating some big shots from his back.  Miller's winning streak will end here without a stoppage.

Miller landed a solid jab early in round three.  The two traded shots in spots, with Henderson getting the better of things with some excellent low kicks and overall speed.  But then Miller connected with a solid right hand that floored his adversary.  Henderson simply recovered, stood up, and took Miller down.  After some serious ground and pound, Henderson mounted, then took his opponent's back.  After a rear naked choke attempt failed, Henderson just started pounding away.  Though positions changed, in the end it was an elbow fest for Henderson.  Heck, he even tried a guillotine close to the end of the fight.

This guy is just that good.  There was no doubt who won when the bell tolled.

Ben Henderson defeats Jim Miller by unanimous decision.
