The Olympics....I mean, what's bigger than that? Along with this, usually buried beneath all of the other Olympics coverage are the Tae Kwon Do competitions. And by placing second at the United States Taekwondo Senior National Championships in Orlando, Florida, on July 4, 18 year old Shaina Krause qualified for a chance to compete at the 2012 Olympic team trials in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Betcha that's more than most freshmen at George Mason University can say.
Even though she's trying not to think too much about a try out that won't happen for about a year, the whole thing is the culmination of a lot of hard work for Krause. After all, the 5-foot-7 practitioner has been thinking about this for awhile now.
"When I started watching the Olympics, I knew that I wanted to be there," she said, according to a Fairfax Times article.
Good luck to her in seeing a dream potentially come true.
