Tai Chi Practitioners Attempt To Break Record

There are all types of records being broken every day.  So why not attempt to break the world record for number of participants during a Tai Chi lesson?  It appears that exact thought came to at least a few people recently.

You see, this past week in Endcliffe park (Sheffield, England) more than 100 martial arts practitioners came for a Tai Chi lesson, according to the Sheffield Telegraph.  But that was hardly it.  One hundred groups across England simultaneously participated, looking to break the previous record of 33,966 total people.

"It was wonderful to see so many people and fingers crossed we have broken the record," said Rachel Barrow, from the Sheffield Tai Chi association (Kingfield Hall).

Guinness World Record Officials will announce whether they have broken the record some time in August.  Regardless, the effort was impressive.
