"I'm pissed off," Michael Bisping said before taking on Denis Kang at UFC 105. "I need to win, I need to win impressively." Of course, Bisping was angry because his last fight against Dan Henderson ended so badly. Unfortunately for him, Kang nearly made it two straight losses for the British fighter by way of KO from a right hand when he dropped him in the first with just such a punch. From there, however, Bisping managed to stay safe on the bottom, even surviving the mount position from his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt of an opponent.
In the second round, the story took a different turn. Bisping changed his game plan, going for takedowns and achieving three throughout the stanza. What's more, every time he took Kang down he made him pay for it with severe ground and pound that almost immediately opened up a cut on the bridge of his opponent's nose. After the third takedown, a clearly dizzied Kang was simply overwhelmed in a turtled up position when the referee decided to step in.
True fighters learn from losses and come back better than ever. It appears that Michael Bisping is proving to be that kind of fighter.
Michael Bisping defeats Denis Kang by TKO at 4:24 of round two.
