Matt Brown and James Wilks fought a pretty close first round at UFC 105 in Manchester, England. But in the second round, Brown landed a hard flying knee and followed it up on the ground with some severe ground and pound. Though Wilks used a leglock attempt to get out of trouble, he only found himself back in it later in the stanza when his opponent landed multiple punches on him.
In the third round, Wilks came out and had Brown in trouble with a kimura attempt. But when that fell by the wayside, Brown managed to get up and then turn the tides for good, achieving the mount position and pounding his way to a stoppage. Wilks showed tremendous heart and an indomitable fighting spirit, but. . .
Matt Brown wins by way of TKO at 2:27 of round three.
