According to Yahoo! Sports, Tito Ortiz will take on Forrest Griffin in the co-main event at UFC 106. Originally, Ortiz had been scheduled to take on Mark "The Hammer" Coleman at the event, but Coleman tore his MCL in training. Hence, the UFC put together this rematch, one that Griffin has indicated a desire to do on more than one occasion after losing their first contest in a very close decision.
The bottom line is that an Ortiz win would automatically catapult him to light heavyweight contender status. A Griffin win would allow him to stay relevant in the division after two straight losses by way of stoppage.
