Fedor Emelianenko To Take On Brett Rogers on CBS

Thursday September 17, 2009

Fedor Emelianenko is widely considered the greatest mixed martial arts fighter on the planet. That said, the fact that he's a Russian fighter not competing in the UFC has made it so the majority of the American public does not know who he is. Well, that's all about to change as Emelianenko will take on undefeated Brett Rogers on November 7 on CBS under the Strikeforce banner.

That's right, I said CBS.

No one is giving Rogers any chance to win this one. On one hand, Emelianenko is a deserved favorite. On the other, Rogers is a very big man that hits very hard. That plus his athleticism make him a difficult challenge for any heavyweight, as former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski recently found out when Rogers left him out cold after only 22 seconds at Strikeforce: Lawler vs. Shields.

Looking forward to seeing if the man simply known as Fedor can keep his dominating streak going in front of the biggest American crowd he's ever been received by.
