Nate Quarry Wins Three Round War Over Tim Credeur

Wednesday September 16, 2009

Louisiana native Tim Credeur is a very tough guy.  Oregon's own Nate Quarry is known for much of the same.  But oftentimes when we expect a great fight, the bout just doesn't live up to expectations.

Not this time.

Credeur had Quarry in trouble in the first round on his feet, as he picked him apart to the point that he was almost able to stop him with a rear naked choke on the ground as a result.  But as we've all come to expect from Quarry, he persevered and battled his way through the trouble.  The second round saw Credeur open up with a flurry that left his opponent looking like he was in trouble again- keyword: looking- before Quarry connected with a huge right hand that was followed by a flurry and then another right, putting Credeur on the ground.  But somehow Credeur managed to tough it out.  In the third round, Credeur once again came out looking to put his opponent out with strikes.  But again Quarry landed that huge right that dropped him.  In fact, the punch would've actually ended most fighters in an instant.  But not Credeur.  He not only managed to persevere but actually got to his feet and engaged in a stand off of fatigued fighters in the middle of the Octagon that was poetry in motion before getting rocked once again.

The bottom line is that Credeur survived and Quarry got the decision.  Oh yeah, and this was one of the best fights of the year.
