You have the Muay Thai style clinch of Anderson Silva, and then you have the wrestling clinch with an MMA twist. You know, the one that Randy "The Natural" Couture has made quite famous throughout his illustrious MMA career. Well, after telling people before his UFC 101 fight against Amir Sadollah that he loved "throwing leather," and "hitting people," former All American wrestler Johny Hendricks reinforced his words via a left hand that stopped a charging Sadollah cold in his tracks. Then he followed that up with one of those Couture style clinches- right hand holding the head, the left hand beating it up- until Sadollah hit the ground. From there, Hendricks continued to swing away at his downed opponent until the referee stepped in.
All told it only took 29 seconds for him to take home the TKO victory.
Sadollah was trying to get up, making the decision to call an ending to the bout somewhat controversial. But there can be no doubt that the former TUF champion was definitely hurt when the fight was stopped.
