Martial Arts Schools Now Offering Character Education

By , About.com Guide   March 19, 2009

Follow me on:

There are many reasons parents get their children involved in martial arts , but perhaps none are as important as building character and confidence. Along with this, some martial arts instructors and schools—such as North East Academy in Brewerton, New York— are reportedly going the extra mile when it comes to this.

Ever hear of POWerful Words? Well, it's a character development program with lessons designed to help give children the stuff they need to succeed in this world. Along with this, North East Academy has called on Robyn J.A. Silverman, Ph.D., to help deliver this program to its students and families.

What a resource! And if you’ve got your ear to the grindstone, then you likely already know that North East is hardly the only school out there trying to broaden its horizons by helping students in alternative ways.

Interesting stuff.
