Diego Sanchez vs. Joe Stevenson at UFC 95

Friday December 19, 2008
According to Sherdog.com , a source close to TUF 1 winner Diego Sanchez is indicating that he has verbally agreed to take on Joe Stevenson at UFC 95 on Feb. 21 at the O2 Arena in England. Nothing has been signed yet.

This comes on the heels of Sanchez's recent announcement that he would be dropping down from the welterweight division (170 lbs.) to the lightweight division (155 lbs.). If the fight does take place, it would be the third in a line of very difficult bouts for Stevenson, as his last two appearances have resulted in losses to B.J. Penn at UFC 80 and Kenny Florian at UFC 91. He lost both fights by way of rear naked choke.

Diego Sanchez has won nine fights by way of submission during his MMA career. Check out the results of this fight here: UFC 95 Results
